Braulio Milian was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Materos FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Milian in the 28th minute of play forced Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tincho Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
