Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evaristo Favoretto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Canarinho Atordoado's César Travassos got a free kick in the 18th minute. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, Canarinho Atordoado's Benedito Baiano got a free kick in the 24th minute. Claudinei do Vale hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Canarinho Atordoado's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Canarinho Atordoado's goalie and right to Salvador Gisbert. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Canarinho Atordoado's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Canarinho Atordoado defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Gustavo Souza. The Canarinho Atordoado fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Gustavo Souza should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Gabriel Luz's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Cerezo's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. João Cerezo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Evaristo Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Gustavo Souza. Luís Gustavo Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 85th match minute, Canarinho Atordoado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei do Vale to maneuver through the defense. Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tomas Illescas 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Canarinho Atordoado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Matos to maneuver through the defense. Luís Gustavo Souza made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tiago Gabriel Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Venezuela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
