In the 27th minute, Gunther Van Landewijck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Koper's Bine Šercelj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Gijselinckx in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of FC Koper booed when Geetsvondel² was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Goossens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bine Šercelj breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank De Mol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Bine Šercelj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Gunther Van Landewijck made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FC Koper's zone, Frank De Mol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bine Šercelj came out of the goal and Frank De Mol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Gunther Van Landewijck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Koper's Bine Šercelj was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gunther Van Landewijck in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bine Šercelj prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Džerfi Škrinjar hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Aaron De Ceuster took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bine Šercelj. FC Koper's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
