The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Ayapaso FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Tim Zeigler had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Tomas Illescas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Felipillo Cotan sent off a good shot on target. Felipillo Cotan scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 26th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felipillo Cotan took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 41st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Zeigler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipillo Cotan to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Ayapaso FC's goalkeeper Tim Zeigler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 63rd minute, Felipillo Cotan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ayapaso FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Ayapaso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Isusko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Zeigler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ayapaso FC's goalkeeper Tim Zeigler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 85th minute Luis Javier Fenieux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ayapaso FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Torres's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
