After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Fresnos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Angelo Fresnos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 16th minute of play forced FLAMENGO San Sebastian's goalkeeper Angelo Fresnos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Angelo Fresnos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Damaso Eron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Fresnos saved FLAMENGO San Sebastian from getting behind. Angelo Fresnos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of the match. Emiliano Pancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Pancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Pancho in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Emiliano Pancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Pancho to make the kick off. Primitivo Andino made in the 51st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Agustín Saelices. Pedro Dios's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Dios helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Pedro Dios got a free kick in the 54th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Angelo Fresnos in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelo Fresnos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute. If Emiliano Pancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 65 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. 66 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's goalkeeper Angelo Fresnos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Angelo Fresnos got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Primitivo Andino made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. A collision led to FLAMENGO San Sebastian getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Stepan Petunin hit a great ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 81st minute. When Emiliano Pancho came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the FLAMENGO San Sebastian fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Pancho couldn't finish the play. Angelo Fresnos made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 87 minutes into the game, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Louis Japón nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Angelo Fresnos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Emiliano Pancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Emiliano Pancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The FLAMENGO San Sebastian support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
