In the 10th minute of the match Futbol Club RRFV got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Darko Mišura ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but 洪延广 advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-0 in the 10th minute. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego had great luck who in the 19thth minute grab hold of the ball when Fausto Vimaro from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Vimaro in the 23rd minute of the match. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Zé Carlos de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Angelo Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Fontirroig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guillermo Fontirroig hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Samuel Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 51st minute André Luís Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
