It was a well-played corner which Santino Seco managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Camilo Salvidor came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Abram Sarmiento. But to his dismay, Abram Sarmiento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Colombia's Luis Cazalla got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Camilo Salvidor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabriele Batistuta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-2 in the 26 minute of play. Menchu FC's Armando Roland quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Cazalla, made in the 29th minute of the game. Gabriele Batistuta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd play minute Gabriele Batistuta came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Manzanares. 3-2. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Gabriele Batistuta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Menchu FC from getting a goal against them. Gabriele Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 57th minute of play forced Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriele Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Gabriele Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriele Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 64th minute of play. When Basarab Jupân fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Menchu FC's protests and gave Basarab Jupân a yellow card for diving instead. Kevin Mastache kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Mastache to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Menchu FC's Primitivo Rocendo to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Menchu FC fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Gabriele Batistuta made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-2. The audience was convinced that Gabriele Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 92nd minute of play. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Menchu FC from getting a goal against them. Menchu FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
