Adestiempo Juniors booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filomeno De Putter might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filomeno De Putter ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 13th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Honorato Primo. C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Honorato Primo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pablo Ubarna was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's corner Pablo Ubarna fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Honorato Primo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of the match. Honorato Primo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Lencastre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Domingos Lencastre in the 36thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 37 minutes into the match, C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Honorato Primo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Honorato Primo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42ndth minute of the game Domingos Lencastre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Honorato Primo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domingos Lencastre to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Honorato Primo however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Angel Nuñez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Angel Nuñez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Honorato Primo. That made the score 0-2 in the 54 minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Honorato Primo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorato Primo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Primo having to interfere. Inocencio Sotil hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute of the match C. A. Adestiempo Juniors got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pablo Ubarna ran over to the corner to take the kick. Honorato Primo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 89th minute. Ecuador played a much better game than C. A. Adestiempo Juniors and deserved their victory. The C. A. Adestiempo Juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
