When Defensores del Ángel Gris's Serafim Catranides in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. 6 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Golanski came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 10th minute, Gabi Golanski fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 12 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Defensores del Ángel Gris players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Alcocer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 15 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Natanael, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Natanael in the 16th minute of play. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Defensores del Ángel Gris's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Defensores del Ángel Gris's Leonides Natanael slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Leonides Natanael sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After 31 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. When Juan Rubio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 32 minutes had been played. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Estebano in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensores del Ángel Gris the free kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonides Natanael was the one to do the kick off. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Catranides in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Lautaro Puig had to leave the field with a concussion. Gaspar Chaime's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaspar Chaime helped the player get up and apologised. Costa Rica's Alfredo Zoido was substituted for Lautaro Puig. Gaspar Chaime hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolás DAndrea having to interfere. Alexander Carballo lost his temper 63 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Defensores del Ángel Gris:s goal. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Defensores del Ángel Gris. Eleuterio Chabier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 4-0. In the 73rd minute, Leonides Natanael left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Defensores del Ángel Gris fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 76 minutes into the game, Gabi Golanski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Gabi Golanski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Gaspar Chaime was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Defensores del Ángel Gris getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Gaspar Chaime hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Aaron Alcocer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás DAndrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Defensores del Ángel Gris's Nicolás DAndrea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Defensores del Ángel Gris from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Natanael in the 94th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Alcocer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolás DAndrea having to interfere.
