Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off. Sport Club Mavericks's Marcelo Gröhe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Leonardo Leoz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sport Club Mavericks's Zézinho Lopez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Sport Club Mavericks's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Lopez in the 16th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sport Club Mavericks's Fernando Lucas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 20 minute of the game. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dre Schipmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zézinho Lopez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Gröhe. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Gröhe should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Mavericks's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Gröhe came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luca Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Gröhe having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zézinho Lopez to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Gröhe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 64th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Marcelo Gröhe successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bater Noppe replaced Conrado Sanches. In the 69th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Sport Club Mavericks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mexico's Luca Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcelo Gröhe in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Zézinho Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 78th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Macos Graciani kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Gröhe came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 88 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Lucas came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Gröhe made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sport Club Mavericks throughout the match.
