An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 51st minute of play forced FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goalkeeper Serbülent Baysan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Baumar Ontanilla came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serbülent Baysan made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eufemio Ehijo in the 92nd minute of the match. The FC Anderlecht Huachipato fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
