Naldo Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Glyn Sherwood having to make a save. With a little luck, Belper Town's Glyn Sherwood got control of the ball when Naldo Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Naldo Fonseca got free in front of the goal in the 26th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Glyn Sherwood was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Belper Town getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Adrian Barraclough hit a great ball. José Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Glyn Sherwood made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Freddie East got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Belper Town's Adrian Barraclough got a free kick in the 45th minute. Naldo Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Glyn Sherwood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vanderslaike FC.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddie East to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Vanderslaike FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naldo Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Glyn Sherwood stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naldo Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Vanderslaike FC's Anier Sayvion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Vanderslaike FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Freddie East managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belper Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie East was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anier Sayvion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Glyn Sherwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper Anier Sayvion had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Freddie East. The crowd rose to their feet as Belper Town's Freddie East slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anier Sayvion. That made the score 1-1 after 73 minutes of play. Vanderslaike FC's Naldo Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vanderslaike FC booed when Belper Town was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Chadwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Belper Town's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo Fonseca came free, but Glyn Sherwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
