Eraldo Cocca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Enrique Orixe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfonso Monti during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Emiliano Mazzocchetti sped through Palmar AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Enrique Orixe. The supporters of Palmar AFC booed when Montorfano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Pozzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Orixe was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Eraldo Cocca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eraldo Cocca really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciccio Di Tommaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montorfano's supporters rose to their feet, but Eraldo Cocca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Orixe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, Eraldo Cocca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Orixe. Palmar AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eraldo Cocca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 97 played minutes Palmar AFC got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Neto. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Montorfano fully deserved thier win.
