Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Oliver Bierhoff got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Matías Patrone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the Los Delfines defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matías Patrone. The Los Delfines fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matías Patrone should have stopped the shot. Los Delfines's Matías Patrone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of play. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Patrone. Los Delfines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luz Tejedor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Los Delfines's Matías Patrone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 39th minute of play. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Oliver Bierhoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Valentin Primeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Luz Tejedor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the game Hilario Asteri made a throw-in which Oliver Bierhoff played forward. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 53rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Milagros Fraga however managed to control. Peru's Anthony Alvarado managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hilario Asteri in the 56 minute of the game. When Peru's Luz Tejedor in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Delfines's goalie prevented a goal. Los Delfines made a substitution. Raimundo Goyo replaced Oliver Bierhoff. In the 67th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Los Delfines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Abeitia came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Milagros Fraga got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when José Luis Brown made a throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Los Delfines.
