It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dale Dolar kicked off to start the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Dolar, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Barcellos Mineiro FC's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Ugutz came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dale Dolar. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Ugutz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. Chile:s Thiago Pliego showed great skill when he stopped Radul Kokalov:s penalty. After 29 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Amílton Loyola who took care of the corner kick. In the 34th minute Barcellos Mineiro FC were awarded a corner. Amílton Loyola went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Amerigo Gervasi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The corner led Barcellos Mineiro FC's Tião Paraíba to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 37th minute of play. Patricio Ugutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of Chile booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyd Kaufman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Patricio Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a rather tough play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Clóvis Vieira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 70th minute of play. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Carrascal in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Jorge Carrascal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Carrascal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Patricio Ugutz made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Patricio Ugutz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. When the referee blew the final whistle, Barcellos Mineiro FC could leave the field as winners, despite Chile having more of the ball for most of the match.
