Nilson do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's Luiz Guilherme Varela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Natã dos Santos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Sobis to make the kick off. With a little luck, Bandelocos's Nilson do Vale got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute Rafael Sobis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Sobis took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 89 minutes into the match, Rafael Sobis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Sobis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. A hard shot 91 in the game by Agustín Saelices from a close distance when the talented Nilson do Vale managed to make a qualified save. Bandelocos's players were relieved. Ecuador played a much better game than Bandelocos and deserved their victory. The Bandelocos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
