The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 5th minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Mauricio Precioso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. Mauricio Precioso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 14th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Mauricio Precioso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Rufino Giron came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mauricio Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Club Puerto Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Larrieta to maneuver through the defense. Mauricio Precioso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 41st minute of the match. After 42 minutes Club Puerto Quito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Mauricio Precioso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Club Puerto Quito's Mauricio Precioso got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mauricio Precioso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauricio Precioso saved Club Puerto Quito from getting behind. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauricio Precioso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Mauricio Precioso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Mauricio Precioso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Precioso having to interfere. Mauricio Precioso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rufino Giron in the 83rd minute of play. Facundo Cadaval could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Mauricio Precioso made a huge save. Mauricio Precioso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Mauricio Precioso made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Mauricio Precioso made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
