C.A.Independiente were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gavril Bosioc took the corner. The corner led C.A.Independiente's Gavril Bosioc to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Buford Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. C.A.Independiente's Ambrosio Ovando quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Ovando in the 18th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Buford Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Baldomiro Silvino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tom Misaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heigo Luiga in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heigo Luiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heigo Luiga went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Heigo Luiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Heigo Luiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 46 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tom Misaki made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Buford Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.A.Independiente's Lisandro Mederi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Camilo Gisbert, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Misaki in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tom Misaki in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C.A.Independiente's Buford Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute of play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 67 in the game by Felix Montenegro from a close distance when the talented Buford Lim managed to make a qualified save. C.A.Independiente's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, C.A.Independiente's Bernardino Gonsalve got a free kick in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Buford Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heigo Luiga in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Buford Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, C.A.Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Gonsalve to maneuver through the defense. C.A.Independiente's Justino Confesor was substituted for Heigo Luiga. After a rather tough play, C.A.Independiente's Bernardino Gonsalve got a free kick in the 91st minute. Justino Confesor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
