Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Yaya Sow kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute São Paulo F.C. were awarded a corner. Yaya Sow went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on São Paulo F.C.'s corner Yaya Sow fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Ronaldo Crispín's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Yago Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, São Paulo F.C.'s Ronaldo Crispín dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Crispín stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, São Paulo F.C.'s Ronaldo Crispín nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. São Paulo F.C.'s Eugênio Gonçalves was substituted for Buba Seco. Tiago Godoi made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. São Paulo F.C.:s Tiago Godoi showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Illescas:s penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Crispín in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. São Paulo F.C.'s Dirk Snabl was substituted for Vito Travassos. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Ronaldo Crispín. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Crispín quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 90th minute. Ronaldo Crispín hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Crispín, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. São Paulo F.C.'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
