Fazendinha's Maximino Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. Maximino Acevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Maximino Acevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maximino Acevedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Maximino Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximino Acevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Bondi in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fazendinha's goalkeeper Maximino Acevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximino Acevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 35th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fazendinha's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Maximino Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it.

Arturo Bondi scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute Luiz Guilherme Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Fazendinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Bondi to maneuver through the defense. After 65 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. The audience was convinced that Arturo Bondi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Maximino Acevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 81st minute of play forced Fazendinha's goalkeeper Maximino Acevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luis Andino got free in front of the goal in the 82nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Maximino Acevedo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Maximino Acevedo. In the 92nd minute, Gláuber Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximino Acevedo made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Maximino Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Fazendinha's Maximino Acevedo got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fazendinha's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fazendinha throughout the match.
