The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Pochekanski got free with Irakliy Ozhogin in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Infidels F.C's Stellan Svensson got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Irakliy Ozhogin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mario Pochekanski in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Golden Tigers's Darweesh Al Matrok slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Irakliy Ozhogin. That made the score 1-1 after 45 minutes of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Golden Tigers's Mario Pochekanski got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Infidels F.C's Irakliy Ozhogin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khalel Al Motar in the 52nd minute of play. Irakliy Ozhogin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Pochekanski, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute.
