Omar Duardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Ureña, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. If Tomás Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes in the game, Felipe Porras fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Omar Duardo having to interfere. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when CS La Libertad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batuhan Eryilmaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vancouver Reds were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after CS La Libertad's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joan Carrasco took the corner. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Amédée Gillis advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-2 in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Séverin Dent cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Omar Volio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 42 minutes into the game, İbrahim Efe Ergener was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CS La Libertad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. In the 62nd minute, Ferdinand Boucher made a precise shot to the right of Omar Volio. CS La Libertad's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Omar Volio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Séverin Dent's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Carballo came free, but Omar Duardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Pang Jun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. If Tomás Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Ureña in the 89th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Omar Duardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Duardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Batuhan Eryilmaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 95th match minute, CS La Libertad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Frasquito to maneuver through the defense. Vancouver Reds played a much better game than CS La Libertad and deserved their victory. The CS La Libertad players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
