Orlando da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Garopaba F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha did a great save. In the 20th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Dedé Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wambasther Özil was slow to take the kick. During this time Garopaba F.C's players had a chance to rest. In the 30th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 34th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Jerano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Dante Jerano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Dedé Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomás Gajardo's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Gajardo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Garopaba F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Tomás Gajardo hit a great ball. Orlando da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedé Correia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Orlando da Cunha in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Orlando da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes Garopaba F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando da Cunha having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Urtungo in the 70th minute of the match. Tomás Gajardo was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Tomás Gajardo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Orlando da Cunha in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 87 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Bueno came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Garopaba F.C were awarded a corner. Nicolas Bueno went to the cornerflag to take it. Marconi Galvan was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 90th minute, Rogelio Urtungo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garopaba F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.
