After a rather tough play, Atletico Aragua FC's Christiano Fano got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haitz Langarica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Echavarria was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Haitz Langarica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haitz Langarica made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 15 minutes Atletico Aragua FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Haitz Langarica quite easily take care of the ball. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haitz Langarica having to make a save. Haitz Langarica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atletico Aragua FC's Haitz Langarica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. Lauro Acebal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Atletico Aragua FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haitz Langarica should have stopped the shot. After having played for 45 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haitz Langarica having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaspard Izquierdo to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Haitz Langarica had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After 58 minutes Atletico Aragua FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Atletico Aragua FC's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Atletico Aragua FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 61 minutes into the match, Atletico Aragua FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Haitz Langarica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauro Acebal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atletico Aragua FC's Lauro Acebal got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Atletico Aragua FC's Viviano Omente was substituted for Christiano Fano. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 76 minutes, Lauro Acebal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Atletico Aragua FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Haitz Langarica quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haitz Langarica read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Echavarria in the 91st minute of play. Arnold Collins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
