Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pavao Zadro took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nestor Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Lobos de Carelia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Cortez having to interfere. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Cortez having to interfere. Saul Montrel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Lobos de Carelia got a freekick which was hit by Saul Montrel. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lobos de Carelia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Nestor Cortez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Lobos de Carelia's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pavao Zadro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 48 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nestor Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prospero Perico in the 57th minute of the match. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Lobos de Carelia's Prospero Perico. But to his dismay, Prospero Perico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Prospero Perico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 70th minute Prospero Perico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Nestor Cortez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 74th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lobos de Carelia's Pavao Zadro in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 77th minute Prospero Perico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Nestor Cortez in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nestor Cortez was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-2. Lobos de Carelia made a substitution. Cristobal Lia replaced Pavao Zadro. Nestor Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 84th minute of the match. Saul Montrel kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Perico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cristobal Lia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cristobal Lia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lobos de Carelia throughout the match.
