Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Don Bray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The Globo Red's Adam Muddle managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Felix Montenegro in the 40 minute of the game. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Caco Moura made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Don Bray. The corner led to Ecuador's Agustín Saelices getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Don Bray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Caco Moura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caco Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
