When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute of the match Didi Fútbol Club got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jairo Borizar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Didi Fútbol Club's Jairo Borizar to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 84 minutes in the game Nunez Ordax did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Joel Abeloos. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Didi Fútbol Club's Salomon Villapecellin was substituted for Oscar Natos. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Didi Fútbol Club's Dani Bernaldez was substituted for Segio Galarza. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
