With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Edmundo Terra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Velichko Rakadzhiev took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Joshua Secada charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Velichko Rakadzhiev in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Velichko Rakadzhiev sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. If Edmundo Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Velichko Rakadzhiev sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Legimin Sagala sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Wilza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The wind increased when Velichko Rakadzhiev made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Godfredo Mel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Antonio Mundo made in the 57th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Edmundo Terra immediately put the ball in play. 59 minutes into the game, Velichko Rakadzhiev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 62 minutes, Edmundo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool Fans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Velichko Rakadzhiev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Legimin Sagala in the 73rd minute of play. Liverpool Fans's Velichko Rakadzhiev got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Velichko Rakadzhiev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute Edmundo Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salvador Gisbert hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. A hard shot 99 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Ruben Wilza managed to make a qualified save. Liverpool Fans's players were relieved. Liverpool Fans's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
