The crowd rose to their feet as Rian Giggs kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-2 in the 15 minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Mier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rian Giggs was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru's Efraim Gilabert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Zeru Recino in the 54 minute of the game. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Brun Bucaran got a throw-in 84 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cássio Correia. When Rafael Gallo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Gallo couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Mier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
