Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Tomas Illescas made the kick off and thus started the match. After 2 played minutes Juventudes Libertárias got a freekick which was hit by Noel Valle. Mauro Eliazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Eliazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juventudes Libertárias's Agostinho Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ritvaldis Rau, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Venezuela made a substitution. Guillermo Espina replaced Camilo Gaos. In the 29th minute, Alexsandro Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Eliazar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 37th minute Ritvaldis Rau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juventudes Libertárias's Ritvaldis Rau got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juventudes Libertárias's Mauro Eliazar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 42nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Eliazar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Mauro Eliazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After having played for 61 minutes, Gilson Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventudes Libertárias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilson Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauro Eliazar made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Ritvaldis Rau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juventudes Libertárias's supporters rose to their feet, but Ritvaldis Rau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agostinho Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After 94 minutes of play, Juventudes Libertárias's Ritvaldis Rau made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there!
