An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 3rd minute of play forced Club Deportivo Polonia's goalkeeper Angelino Barba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Angelino Barba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Polonia's Aquilino Velazquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurino Esperta. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belarmino Viejo in the 13th minute of the match. After 21 minutes, Inocencio Huguet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportivo Polonia and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Club Deportivo Polonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inocencio Huguet to maneuver through the defense. In the 25thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportivo Polonia's Angelino Barba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Angelino Barba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelino Barba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Belarmino Viejo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Maurino Esperta tried to sneak it across the goal line. García Ramos made in the 34th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Álvaro Carmona. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belarmino Viejo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelino Barba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Belarmino Viejo was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Belarmino Viejo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 63 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Angelino Barba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelino Barba having to interfere. Club Deportivo Polonia made a substitution. Loramendi Zabalo replaced Belarmino Viejo. In the 80th minute, Loramendi Zabalo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportivo Polonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Angelino Barba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 84th minute. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Antonio Tenorio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angelino Barba quite easily take care of the ball. Club Deportivo Polonia's Angelino Barba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 90th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
