Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Yağızalp Öznur scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. In the 13th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Zandberg to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dennis Beerthuis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Nesor in the 31st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermengildo Nesor took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After having played for 37 minutes, Hermengildo Nesor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Winthont FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Nesor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hermengildo Nesor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 39th playminute. A collision led to Winthont FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Sander Schaars hit a great ball. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascal Zegeling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermengildo Nesor in the 60th minute of play. Hermengildo Nesor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. In the 61st minute Hermengildo Nesor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermengildo Nesor might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hermengildo Nesor ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Nesor in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Zandberg to maneuver through the defense. Winthont FC's Sixto Gorbea was substituted for Hermengildo Nesor. In the 68th minute, Fred Zandberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Tomas Illescas fired a really elegant long shot, but Dennis Beerthuis threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Venezuela's attack was well implemented in the 79th minute, but when Tomas Illescas was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. It was beautiful to see Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in action when he in the 95th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
