To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Timo Werner took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timo Werner in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 18 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Artur Scigan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Artur Scigan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Przemysl got a freekick which was hit by Wieslaw Falkiewicz. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Artur Scigan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
