After 5 minutes, Alex Chicote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Real Trabzon Sk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eddie Murphy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Ahmet Harun Karasu in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jose Correa. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Görkem Büyükada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Trabzon Sk's Görkem Büyükada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Eddie Murphy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Görkem Büyükada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Mariano during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 minutes Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant managed, with a little bit of luck, save Zekeriya Özbekkan's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. 30 minutes into the match, Zekeriya Özbekkan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zekeriya Özbekkan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Zekeriya Özbekkan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zekeriya Özbekkan really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. If Ediz Sadri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play forced Real Trabzon Sk's goalkeeper Görkem Büyükada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zekeriya Özbekkan made a kick off. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tuncer Dural charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tuncer Dural the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Real Trabzon Sk getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Tuncer Dural hit a great ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Zekeriya Özbekkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute, Tuncer Dural hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zekeriya Özbekkan struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Trabzon Sk. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddie Murphy in the 90th minute of play. Tuncer Dural hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Trabzon Sk.
