In the 10th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cesar Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Compostela FSCMZ's Cesar Peyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. Rodrigo Seco lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 14th minute, one of Compostela FSCMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Compostela FSCMZ. Cesar Peyo had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Cesar Peyo. Compostela FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Compostela FSCMZ's Jaroslaw Niezgoda got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute of the match, Jaroslaw Niezgoda tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With an all-out effort, Compostela FSCMZ's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jaroslaw Niezgoda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 28th minute, Mauro Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Compostela FSCMZ were awarded a corner. The corner led Compostela FSCMZ's Mauro Paulista to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaroslaw Niezgoda to make the kick off. Compostela FSCMZ's Cesar Peyo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Compostela FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Compostela FSCMZ.
