A throw-in in the 6th minute of the game was made by Tomas Illescas with Jose Correa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 9 minutes into the match, Gaita´s club's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Jaime Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Kurtuluş Tuğcu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtuluş Tuğcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Kurtuluş Tuğcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Delmiro Xabel's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmiro Xabel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Gaita´s club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Xabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurtuluş Tuğcu in the 29th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Rafael Bernaldo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Jaime Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Gaita´s club got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Xabel. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaime Cortez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Gaita´s club's Manuel Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 40th minute. When Camilo Gaos fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kurtuluş Tuğcu to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Gaita´s club's Kurtuluş Tuğcu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a little luck, Gaita´s club's Jaime Cortez got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Delmiro Xabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurtuluş Tuğcu in the 66th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Kurtuluş Tuğcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Cortez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gaita´s club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jaime Cortez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gaita´s club had played much better football throughout.
