Sporting Angola's Miguel Cunha managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 13 minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Sporting Angola's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Freddy Sein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddy Sein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claus Wüllbier in the 58th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Sporting Angola's Ubaldo Goyanes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 66th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Leoz to maneuver through the defense. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Angola's Freddy Sein did a great save. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Tomas Gartzen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Freddy Sein in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. In the 89th match minute, Sporting Angola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Flinck to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Sein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Angola's Tomas Gartzen. But to his dismay, Tomas Gartzen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Angola fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexico had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
