Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tomas Illescas kicked off to start the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 7th minute of play. Isidoro Beltran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Bertol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorg Pieters showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sören Bengtsson. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Beltran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Isidoro Beltran. But to his dismay, Isidoro Beltran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sören Bengtsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Jorg Pieters could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 45th minute of the match Independiente got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Napoleon Dropinski ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Independiente's corner Napoleon Dropinski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After a rather tough play, Independiente's Mateo Mendez got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorg Pieters in the 54th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Pepe Santoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pepe Santoro came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pepe Santoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After 81 minutes, Patricio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Independiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorg Pieters in the 82nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Beltran, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 87 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Independiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 87th minute. Isidoro Beltran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Serafín Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Independiente were the better team. Independiente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
