Loukas Kois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Albom, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Olle Tunander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostas Kazakopoulos in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kerkyra FC's zone, Alfons Delin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loukas Kois came out of the goal and Alfons Delin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Valentinos Kanellakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Patrick Albom made a precise shot to the right of Loukas Kois. Kerkyra FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 37th minute Karl-Erik Sörman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loukas Kois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Koulis Kouloucheris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Olle Tunander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Koulis Kouloucheris. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Kerkyra FC's Loukas Kois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Delin in the 58th minute of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Koulis Kouloucheris who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VfL Wolfsburg's Olle Tunander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Koulis Kouloucheris's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olle Tunander was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. VfL Wolfsburg's Kim Torstensson got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 69 minutes, Koulis Kouloucheris made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. VfL Wolfsburg's Olle Tunander tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentinos Kanellakis in the 76th minute of play forced VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Olle Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Koulis Kouloucheris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Loukas Kois came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by VfL Wolfsburg's Alfons Delin. But to his dismay, Alfons Delin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. With a little luck, Kerkyra FC's Loukas Kois got control of the ball when Patrick Albom tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to VfL Wolfsburg getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Kenneth Wallander hit a great ball. Koulis Kouloucheris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olle Tunander having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
