An unexpected shot in the 2nd minute by Deilmison van Basten got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niva Bellido in the 4th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Deilmison van Basten took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas to make any attempt to save it. Sem Chance made in the 13th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Lino Valle immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Bellido in the 14th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Niva Bellido came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niva Bellido in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodriguinho Sousa saved ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting behind. With an all-out effort, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Deilmison van Basten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 23rd minute Romando Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Ubaldo Maillard went to the cornerflag to take it. Lino Valle hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niva Bellido in the 25th minute of play. Vilhelm Skoog took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas. Romando Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niva Bellido was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Bellido in the 56th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison van Basten took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by ATHLETICO PRaiano's Ralf Albäck. But to his dismay, Ralf Albäck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 85 minutes into the match, Niva Bellido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa. ATHLETICO PRaiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niva Bellido was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 90th minute of the match. After 94 played minutes ATHLETICO PRaiano got a freekick which was hit by Erubiel Valery. After a defensive mix-up in ATHLETICO PRaiano's zone, Ubaldo Maillard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho Sousa came out of the goal and Ubaldo Maillard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romando Futebol Clube's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
