The audience was convinced that Abraham Alguacil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Grant Muro was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. A collision led to Martelli City Club getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jonas Batista hit a great ball. Guillermo Osmundo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Korneliusz Lizewski's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Korneliusz Lizewski helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Panama booed when Martelli City Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Korneliusz Lizewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Panama's Abraham Alguacil broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Grant Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 37th minute of the match. Grant Muro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Serafin Bonadona kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-2 in the 41 minute of play. After 45 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
