Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Rivas, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute, Nicolas Roland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 16th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Naike, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 25th minute of play. Nicolas Roland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 40 minutes into the game, Alberto Joey threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Antonio Indiano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Abram Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Elpidio Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Cristian Naike hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kevin Mastache in the 70th minute. A nice corner shot did that Kevin Mastache got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Elpidio Vitin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Abram Secada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Abram Secada could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Elpidio Vitin however easily saved by the left post. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Severo Maule hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Abram Secada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Secada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Vitin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 88 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Santos Fonda. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Mastache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elpidio Vitin was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. A nice corner shot did that Pascual Carballar got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Elpidio Vitin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 92 minutes, Godofredo Ado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vélez Juniors and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Godofredo Ado hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vélez Juniors had won after a very even match.
