Radomir Pracki came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mamat Darwis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Mamat Darwis scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. Mamat Darwiss short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 19thth minute of the game Mamat Darwis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jurand Hyska during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Jurand Hyska hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radomir Pracki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mamat Darwis to make the kick off. Dominik Bugajski kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mamat Darwis in the 55th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palau Końskowola the free kick.
