Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Daniel Zorita made the kick off which started today's match. Brett Hull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emerson Whaley in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Whaley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emerson Whaley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emerson Whaley was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Whaley having to interfere. Emerson Whaley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Agustín Saelices got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-1. 40 minutes into the match. Emerson Whaley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erin Valencia kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Emerson Whaley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Lawrence Hopson managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Richmond's supporters rose to their feet, but Lawrence Hopson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AFC Richmond's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erin Valencia in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Erin Valencia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lawrence Hopson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Ali Can was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Richmond's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 62 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Ali Can. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Emerson Whaley threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Richmond from getting a goal against them. In the 66th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Emerson Whaley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Napoleon Chesnay hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emerson Whaley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Emerson Whaley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ecuador played a much better game than AFC Richmond and deserved their victory. The AFC Richmond players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
