When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Enzo Fernández got a throw-in 57 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ángel-Fabián Di María. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dibag Martinez having to interfere. Lautaro Martinez's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Martinez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, La Scaloneta's Lautaro Martinez got a free kick in the 67th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when La Scaloneta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julián Álvarez in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Julián Álvarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The La Scaloneta fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when La Scaloneta's Lautaro Martinez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. La Scaloneta fully deserved thier win.
