Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miki Jungslund in the 7th minute. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caio da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Bueno having to interfere. Gary Thomason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ilgaz Şirvan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilgaz Şirvan in the 33rd minute of play. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Miki Jungslund. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Daron Keen was substituted for Wilber Leon. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abel Bueno quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caio da Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Caio da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caio da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Qikiqtarjuaq FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Caio da Rocha came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abel Bueno. Abel Bueno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Caio da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But to his dismay, Joshua Keys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
