Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Henrique Candal started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Gentil in the 9th minute of play. Matos Velhos were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tord Böcklund took the corner. Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 17 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Matos Velhos defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vito de Godoi. The Matos Velhos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vito de Godoi should have stopped the shot. Dante Lacasa was a little too slow when Henrique Candal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-2. Vito de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 27 played minutes Matos Velhos got a freekick which was hit by Bo Stam. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Lorenzo Cazalla a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bo Stam during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mexico booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Stam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 58th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Júlio Gentil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match Matos Velhos got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tord Böcklund ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 66th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Matos Velhos's Karl Nietlisbach was substituted for Sabino Vilhena. Matos Velhos's Lee Beckford was substituted for Henrique Candal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Beckford in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th play minute Facundo Cadaval came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vito de Godoi. 1-4. 83 minutes into the game, Karl Nietlisbach cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. When Júlio Gentil came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Matos Velhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Gentil couldn't finish the play. After 90 minutes Matos Velhos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Alberto Tafalla was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Matos Velhos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
