Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Zigmantas Gimbutas kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Adán having to interfere. Antonio Adán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Charl De Metser got a free kick in the 9th minute. Charl De Metser kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 15 minutes, Quintino Carvalhais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quintino Carvalhais was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Zigmantas Gimbutas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Braga's supporters rose to their feet, but Zigmantas Gimbutas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Quintino Carvalhais sent off a good shot on target. Quintino Carvalhais could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After 20th play minutes Zigmantas Gimbutas shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. After 23 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Charl De Metser got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! After having played for 40 minutes, Zigmantas Gimbutas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zigmantas Gimbutas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. If Zigmantas Gimbutas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Antonio Adán in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. 58 minutes into the game, Zigmantas Gimbutas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. SC Braga's Geraldo Lucas was substituted for André Jordão. SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson was substituted for Zigmantas Gimbutas. Antonio Adán was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. 76 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Mattsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Åke Mattsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. The audience was convinced that Stig-Åke Mattsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stig-Åke Mattsson's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. When SC Braga's Antonio Cieri in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. After 91 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lu Xun Lei who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Geraldo Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Braga's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lu Xun Lei in the 97th minute. SC Braga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
