The supporters of Ecuador booed when Wara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faouzi Louahla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cheb El-Hadi in the 11th minute. The Wara fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when Wara's Larkins Potter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Wara were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
