Doru Apostu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 10th minute. Teodor Romeo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Doru Apostu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Moura to maneuver through the defense. Paralia Athens's Agostinho Moura managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alex Chicote in the 22 minute of the game. During the 24th minute of the match Agostinho Moura completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Agostinho Moura a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Paralia Athens getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Agostinho Moura hit a great ball. Doru Apostu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Doru Apostu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of the match. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The throw-in from Salvador Gisbert in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paralia Athens's Leonard Chirculescu. Doru Apostu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of play. Doru Apostu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Doru Apostu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 42ndth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paralia Athens's Doru Apostu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Unai Herrera to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Luca Tomozei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paralia Athens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Tomozei didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Paralia Athens's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doru Apostu came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Unai Herrera in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Unai Herrera in the 69th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Leonard Chirculescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paralia Athens and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Chirculescu to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Unai Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Leonard Chirculescu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Doru Apostu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 87 minutes, Unai Herrera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paralia Athens and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doru Apostu. Doru Apostu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Venezuela's Jose Correa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Teodor Romeo in the 95 minute of the game. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
